The Diane H. Thomas Scholarship for Phoenix College Alumni is a $10,000 scholarship for students preparing to transfer to a four-year college or university in fall 2012.
The deadline to apply is Friday, April 27, 2012. Students who plan to graduate and/or transfer this May are strongly encouraged to apply. A special application can be found at http://www.phoenixcollege.edu/scholarships.
Diane H. Thomas had a long and distinguished career as a commercial photographer, television personality, small business owner, arbiter for the Better Business Bureau, author, freelance writer, photojournalist and college instructor.
She authored and published nearly a dozen books and wrote many more articles which appeared in publications ranging from The New York Times to McCall's and Better Homes & Gardens. Her legacy includes endowed scholarships at Phoenix College and Glendale Community College.
Scholarship criteria include:
-Graduating Phoenix College student (May 2012)
-Minimum 3.0 grade point average
-Demonstrates financial need through details provided in the application
-Preparing to transfer to a four-year college or university.
