Academic Certificate

The Phoenix College Environmental and Natural Resource Stewardship (ENRS) Academic Certificate allows students to:
  • DEVELOP valuable, in-demand skills through education and field experience;
  • CONNECT with working professionals and potential employers;
  • EXPLORE their educational and career options without a big initial commitment; and
  • INVEST in themselves and in their communities at the same time.
The Certificate curriculum is a relatively short program of study that provides students with a fundamental understanding of the many kinds of environmental and natural resource problems facing society today. Throughout their studies students will work closely with faculty and working professionals to refine and strengthen their critical-thinking, decision-making, and team-building skills; the kinds of skills that are in high demand in today's evolving job markets

The ENRS Academic Certificate curriculum consists of five core courses plus one elective course. Collectively, these courses provide students with a well-rounded, interdisciplinary program of study in which they develop an in-depth understanding of the complex and multidimensional nature of modern environmental and natural resource issues and problems. The Certificate courses were carefully chosen to maximize the student’s transfer options.
