Public Safety Update/Summary of Incidents/March 17 – March 23, 2013

March 18; 1:30 pm: Public Safety was advised by staff that several VCR tapes were stolen from the Dental building sometime during the past several months. There are no suspects at this time.

March 19; 2:00 pm: Public Safety was advised by staff that a black nylon bag containing tools was stolen from one of the maintenance carts left overnight near the Old Mechanics Plant. CCTV was reviewed with negative results.

March 19; 10:15 am: Public Safety staff was called upon to assist the Phoenix Police Department in an ongoing investigation involving PC students. The activity had occurred off campus.

March 20; 10:45 am: Public Safety was advised by staff of a black gym bag containing jump ropes that had been stolen from a locked storage area within the gym. CCTV was reviewed with negative results from the time frame given.



Other:
Three medical incidents were reported this week; none required emergency transport.

One non-injury motor vehicle accident was reported during this time frame.

Information: Public Safety has received numerous complaints regarding vehicles parking on the curve (not in a designated parking space) in the Administration lot. First time violators receive a warning. Further violations result in citations. Please contact Public Safety if you have questions.

If you see activity that appears suspicious and/or destructive, call Public Safety to report it: give the location, type of activity and descriptions of those involved if possible. Feb 28; 2:00 pm: Public Safety was contacted by a student reporting the theft of his automobile which had been parked on the upper level of the parking garage. The vehicle had been left locked at 11 am and was determined to be missing at about 1:45 pm. CCTV was reviewed with negative results. The phoenix Police responded and documented the incident and entered the information into the national database.

Feb 28; 5:00 pm: Public Safety was contacted by a student regarding ongoing harassment during the past month by an ex-boyfriend who is also a student. The incident was documented and referred for administrative review/action.

March 5; 12:50 pm: Public Safety was contacted by a student advising that unknown subject/s removed her prescription medication from the center console of her unlocked vehicle while parked it was parked in the west lot. No further information is available at this time.

March 5; 2:30 pm: Public Safety was advised by a student that a tail light to her vehicle had been broken out. The vehicle had been parked in the north lot. No further information is available.

March 8; 2:15 pm: Public Safety was contacted by a student advising the tail gate to his pickup truck had been removed while it was parked in the west lot. CCTV was checked with negative results.

Other:
No medical incidents were reported during this period.

One non-injury hit and run motor vehicle accident was reported during this period. CCTV was reviewed with negative results.

Feb 26; 6:55 pm: Public Safety was contacted by a student regarding the theft of a bicycle near the “E” building. The bike had been locked with a small cable lock which had been defeated.  CCTV was reviewed with negative results.





Other:
Three medical incidents were reported during this period; one required medical transport.

No motor vehicle accidents were reported during this period.



Breatheeasy: A reminder that the District policy on tobacco products on campus has been in effect since July 2012. Please visit the District website for information. Please notify Public Safety when violations are observed to allow for an educational contact by staff.
