Join NAACP and the Black Student Union (BSU) of Phoenix College at the 26th commemoration of the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Rally for a cause and continue in collective vision to recognize the strengths, talents, excellence and resilience of our communities with poetry, storytelling, motivational speaking, children’s activities, community participation and entertainment that the whole family can enjoy. Activities will include a screening of the Oscar-winning documentary Mighty Times: The Children’s March, which tells the story of a group of young people in Birmingham, Alabama, whose heroism moved President Kennedy to introduce the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Brenda Williams, past president of the Phoenix College Alumni Association and BSU Living Legend award recipient, has championed the MLK Youth Rally since its inception in the 1980's and will be honored at this year’s event for her dedication to preserving the legacy of Dr. King.
