Public Safety Update/Summary of Incidents/Oct 29 – Nov 4, 2012
Oct. 29; 12:45 pm: Public Safety staff was contacted by a student reporting the theft of
a laptop computer from a backpack on the Osborn campus. No further information is
available.
Oct. 29; 9:45 pm: Public Safety staff was contacted regarding the theft of a bicycle
secured with a cable lock. The bike was taken from a rack near the Bookstore. CCTV was
checked with negative results.
Oct. 30; 7:20 pm: Public Safety was contacted by staff regarding the theft of a cell phone
in the gym. No other information is available at this time.
Oct. 30; 8:35 pm: Public Safety was contacted by a student regarding a theft of an IPOD
left unattended in the cafeteria. No further information is available.
Oct. 31; 12:10 pm: Public Safety was contacted by a student reporting the theft of
personal items from the Gym. Lost and found was checked and resulted in the recovery
of some of the stolen property.
Nov. 2; 1:30 pm: Public Safety staff documented 2 separate incidents involving threats
toward campus staff. The incidents were referred for administrative review/action.
Five medical incidents were reported to Safety this week. Two of the incidents required
emergency transport.
One non-injury accident was reported this week.
Breatheeasy: A reminder that the District policy on tobacco products on campus
is in effect now. Please visit the District website for information. The Public Safety
Department appreciates your cooperation regarding this policy.
Safety: Safety on our PC Campus is all of our concern and responsibility as involved
community partners. If you see activity that appears suspicious and/or destructive, call
Public Safety to report it: give the location, type of activity and descriptions of those
involved if possible. They may be committing a crime or just need assistance that we can
help with. The Safety Office phone is staffed 24/7. The number is 602-285-7254.

You are invited to participate in PC2NAU, an award-winning joint-admission program between Phoenix College and Northern Arizona University. This program gives you access to the guidance and information needed to seamlessly transition from community college to NAU.

Oct. 22; 11:50 am: Public Safety staff was contacted by a student reporting the theft of a
windshield wiper from her vehicle while parked in the north lot. The CCTV system was
checked with negative results.
Oct. 23; 7:35 pm: Public Safety staff was contacted regarding a disruptive subject in the
library. The student was contacted and calmed down. The incident has been referred for
administrative review/action.
Oct. 25; 4:20 pm: Public Safety was contacted by staff regarding threats made by a
student toward two individuals in the Student Union. The incident has been forwarded for
administrative review/action.
Oct. 28; 4:20 am: Public Safety was contacted regarding 3 to 4 subjects dressed in black
running onto the campus after committing a crime at an adjacent business. The CCTV
system was utilized to find and track the individuals. They committed a criminal damage
and theft of a vending machine near the “B” building and fled. The Phoenix Police were
contacted and arrested 2subjects nearby that were identified by CCTV footage.
Other Activities
One medical incident was reported to Safety this week. The incident did not require
emergency transport.
No motor vehicle accidents were reported this week.

Public Safety Update/Summary of Incidents/Oct 8 – Oct 14, 2012

Oct. 8; 8:00 am: Public Safety staff was contacted reference the theft of running shoes
from the Hannelly Center over the weekend. The shoes had been taken from under a
desk. No other information available.

Oct. 8; 4:00 pm: Public Safety staff was contacted by a student reporting the theft of a
bicycle which had been locked to the bike rack near “B” building. The theft was captured
on CCTV. The investigation is continuing.

Oct. 9; 8:00 am: Public Safety was contacted by staff advising of a possible theft of a
student’s identity. Upon investigation it was determined that the organization was a
legitimate business working with the US Military.

Oct. 9; 6:10 pm: Public Safety was contacted by a student advising his bicycle had been
stolen earlier in the afternoon. The bike had been locked with a U shaped Kryptonite lock
to the bike rack near “E” building. CCTV was reviewed with negative results.

Oct. 9; 6:55 pm: Public Safety was contacted reference an argument in the Student Union
between two students. The verbal argument was disruptive. The incident was referred for
Administrative review/action.

Oct. 10; 7:25 am: Public Safety was contacted by staff regarding the theft of flush valves
in the Men’s restroom of “H” building during the previous day. No further information is
available.

Oct. 12; 9:50 am: Public Safety was contacted by a student reporting a challenge to fight
and threats by another student. Prosecution was not desired. The incident was forwarded
for Administrative review/action.

Other Activities

Three medical incidents were reported to Safety this week. One incident required medical
transport for further treatment.

No motor vehicle accidents were reported during this week.

Observation assistance requested: We ask that anyone observing what appears to be
bathroom repairs to contact the Safety Office immediately so we can verify the work
with our M&O staff.
