Public Safety Update/Summary of Incidents/Oct 8 – Oct 14, 2012

Oct. 8; 8:00 am: Public Safety staff was contacted reference the theft of running shoes
from the Hannelly Center over the weekend. The shoes had been taken from under a
desk. No other information available.

Oct. 8; 4:00 pm: Public Safety staff was contacted by a student reporting the theft of a
bicycle which had been locked to the bike rack near “B” building. The theft was captured
on CCTV. The investigation is continuing.

Oct. 9; 8:00 am: Public Safety was contacted by staff advising of a possible theft of a
student’s identity. Upon investigation it was determined that the organization was a
legitimate business working with the US Military.

Oct. 9; 6:10 pm: Public Safety was contacted by a student advising his bicycle had been
stolen earlier in the afternoon. The bike had been locked with a U shaped Kryptonite lock
to the bike rack near “E” building. CCTV was reviewed with negative results.

Oct. 9; 6:55 pm: Public Safety was contacted reference an argument in the Student Union
between two students. The verbal argument was disruptive. The incident was referred for
Administrative review/action.

Oct. 10; 7:25 am: Public Safety was contacted by staff regarding the theft of flush valves
in the Men’s restroom of “H” building during the previous day. No further information is
available.

Oct. 12; 9:50 am: Public Safety was contacted by a student reporting a challenge to fight
and threats by another student. Prosecution was not desired. The incident was forwarded
for Administrative review/action.

Other Activities

Three medical incidents were reported to Safety this week. One incident required medical
transport for further treatment.

No motor vehicle accidents were reported during this week.

Observation assistance requested: We ask that anyone observing what appears to be
bathroom repairs to contact the Safety Office immediately so we can verify the work
with our M&O staff.
