Public Safety Update/Summary of Incidents/Oct 15 – Oct 21, 2012
Oct. 17; 1:00 pm: Public Safety staff was contacted by a student reporting the theft of
a bicycle which had been locked near the cafeteria. The small cable lock and bike were
taken during the previous 3 hours. The CCTV system was checked with negative results.
Oct. 18; 3:30 pm: Public Safety staff was contacted regarding suspicious activity. A
student advised of a subject (AA/M, 40’s, wearing wide brim hat) driving a dark green
4 door Honda that she has seen 3 different times driving slowly along 11 Avenue. The
subject asked if she wanted a ride one time.
Oct. 18; 5:45 pm: Public Safety was contacted by a student reporting the theft of his IPad
from the student Union. The CCTV system was checked with negative results.
Oct. 19; 10:00 am: Public Safety was contacted by a student reporting the theft of his cell
phone near the parking garage in the west lot. No further information is available at this
time.
Other Activities
Two medical incidents were reported to Safety this week. Both required follow up
treatment.
Three motor vehicle accidents were reported this week. Two were hit and run motor
vehicle accidents involving parked cars in the west lot.
Breatheeasy: A reminder that the District policy on tobacco products on campus
is in effect now. Please visit the District website for information. The Public Safety
Department appreciates your cooperation regarding this policy.
Safety: Safety on our PC Campus is all of our concern and responsibility as involved
community partners. If you see activity that appears suspicious and/or destructive, call
Public Safety to report it: give the location, type of activity and descriptions of those
involved if possible. They may be committing a crime or just need assistance that we can
help with. The Safety Office phone is staffed 24/7. The number is 602-285-7254.
